Jared graduated from SUNY Morrisville ('06) with an AAS in Journalism Technology and SUNY Brockport ('08) with a BA in Broadcast Communications.
He is the son of Marcia Horn, owner of Vine Garden Designs in Trumansburg, New York, and Ed Smith, an Operator for the City of Ithaca Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Kate McNamara is from Trumansburg, New York and is a cake decorator for Wegmans Foods.
Kate attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Hunter College in New York, New York ('05) with a BA in Special Honors and Art History.
She is the daughter of Susan Tierney McNamara, a Research Analyst for Alumni Affairs and Development at Cornell University.
Jared and Kate met in the summer of 2008 while both working at the Woodland Roadhouse in Trumansburg, New York. They were engaged a little over a year later in October, 2009.
They love watching baseball, traveling and hanging out with family and friends.
